Going over the notes I jotted down during the recital I need to review for the paper and it occurred to me how much easier that would be if I had any damn idea about music whatsoever. To illustrate:

'freaky'

'i like this melody'

'kinda disturbing'

'how fast are these guy's fingers'

'i bet he's great at tetris'

'what am i hearing'

'cool solo thing'

'are people only allowed to pick up violin if they look like that?'

In conclusion, I guess I gotta read something about music or ask people with actual knowledge about what they thought of the recital. Any takers?

I'm not a music expert but they played rather beautifully. Nicolas's solo in particular was a transcendent experience and you should definitely highlight it. I found myself distracted from the show just watching the way he played.

Think it's supposed to be more about the listening than the playing. Though you wouldn't know that by the comments of the girls next to me.

Apparently we should have learned to play violin. And to look like that.

I couldn't even tell you. You gotta listen to that recording, man, it's eerie. Like, I listened to him for hours. I barely even asked questions and you know how hard it is for me to shut up.

But it's just strange.
